Twilight Cyclocross #2

The 2019 Twilight Cyclocross series will be held at Eastgate Woodlands. These races are for everyone from beginners to elite racers. Sign up for your first cyclocross racing experience or tune up your rusty skills at these early season events! This course will be majority grass with some off-camber cornering and run-ups.

Helmets required at all times on the bike at the race venue!

Registration:

Pre-register online at obra.org for the series (four races) before noon on September 3rd for $55 ($40 for juniors) OR register online before noon each Tuesday for $15 per race ($10 for juniors). On site registration (cash, check, or card) opens at 4:30, add $5.

Any additional race for the same racer on the same day is $10.

ONLINE REGISTRATION IS STRONGLY ENCOURAGED!

Cross Crusade Call-up points will be awarded for series results (top 2 of each category).

OBRA membership required: ($5 one-day license or $35 annual license available either on site and at www.obra.org). Annual OBRA members may wear their 2019 OBRA road number; a race number will be issued at registration if you don’t have one.

Prizes:

Series prizes will be awarded at the awards party on October 1st:

Medals to top 3 of each category for the 4-race series. $100 cash ($50/30/20) to series top three of the Women 1/2 category provided by West Coast Women’s Cycling. $100 cash ($50/30/20) to series top three of the Men 1/2 category provided by Twilight Operations.

October 1st awards party merchandise raffle for racers and volunteers provided by Co-Motion Cycles and Landspeed’s Fix.

Cross Crusade Call-up points will be awarded for series results.

For weekly results: 6 pack from Deschutes Brewing to winner of each 5:55 and 6:35 category (cash equivalent to minors). These will be available for pick-up at the registration tent the following week (or for week 4, at the October 1st awards party.

Special prize to holeshot winners of the women’s races: a 22oz Oakshire provided by West Coast Women’s Cycling (cash equivalent to minors).

ENJOY YOUR PRIZE BEVERAGES OFF SITE- consumption of alcoholic beverages is prohibited in the park.

Schedule:

4:30 pm: Registration and pre-ride of the course opens

5:30 pm:

Junior men, Junior women (racing age 9-18), (20 min)...For Juniors, your racing age for the 2019 season is your age on December 31st, 2020. Racers with actual age 8-11 may only race at 5:30. Racers with an actual age of 12 or older may also register for categories in the 5:55 or 6:35 races.

5:55 pm:

Men 4/5 (beginners), Women 4/5 (beginners), Masters Men 35+ 3/4/5, Masters Women 35+ 1/2, Masters Women 35+ 3/4/5, Masters Men 50+, Masters Women 50+, Masters Men 60+, Masters Women 60+ (35 min)

6:00 pm:

Kiddie Kross. For ages 8 and under. Race takes place on a small separate course with two small barriers. Free of charge! (10 min)

6:35 pm:

Men 1/2, Men 2/3, Women 1/2, Women 2/3, Masters Men 35+ 1/2, Singlespeed Men, Singlespeed Women,  (45 min or as daylight allows)

6:40 pm:

Kiddie Kross. For ages 8 and under. Race takes place on a small separate course with two small barriers. Free of charge! (10 min)

Parking: (Important)

Parking at the race venue is limited. If you are able to ride to the race, please do. The course is easily accessible from the North Bank Path. If you drive, please obey the parking map below. This course is adjacent to a quiet neighborhood and racers are expected to show respect and consideration for the residents.
